One of the highlights of the SEMA Show, featured prominently in the GM booth, was Nic Ashby’s Challenge America Chevrolet Silverado. In a post script to the show, the Victorious Project blog (http://thevictorious.org/) stated, “We’re all on Cloud 9 because SEMA was a huge success for Challenge America in promoting the needs of our veterans.”
The most notable build for N-FAB was completed by LDRSHIP Designs aka Nic Ashby which was a 2011 Chevy HD Duramax which was voted as “Chevy Fans’ Choice Winner” which was well deserved for the hard work and effort.
Post Script SEMA - An exhausted film crew and veterans returned home after a successful launch at the SEMA show! We’re all on Cloud 9 because SEMA was a huge success for Challenge America in promoting the needs of our veterans. The Victorious Project officially launched, the Chevrolet Silverado was a hit and Nic Ashby did a masterful job of coordinating all the generous sponsors who contributed parts and accessories to make the Chevrolet Silverado truck the spectacular machine that it is. As we mentioned, the Giant bikes looked awesome sitting in the bed of the truck and we’re just so pleased that it all came together. Keep an eye on our web site for more exciting news coming soon! SEMA Day 2/3 Update
The Victorious Project is going strong at SEMA filming veterans interacting with the thousands of SEMA participants including Casey Owens and Joe Perez sent by Challenge America. Casey was severely wounded at war in Iraq as a Marine Corps Corporal. Casey has rebuilt a vigorous life including testifying before Congress about the needs of Veterans for a better system of care. Casey is also extremely active competing in marathons in his wheelchair, skiing, and last night he drove a racing cart at Pole Position in Las Vegas courtesy of BDL and their Manager of Sales and Marketing, Nick Winters. More information about Joe Perez will be forthcoming. Joe is a former Marine from Nevada and his participation was appreciated.
Jerry Macias reports that Nic Ashby’s Silverado was a grand slam home run in the show and he’s collecting tons of footage of all the excitement there. Chevrolet has been 100% behind our veterans and has graciously welcomed the Victorious project into their booth. One day to go on Friday and then it will be time to pack up and head for home.
SEMA Day 1
Big news already from SEMA! Nic Ashby’s truck WON the online Facebook contest so thanks to everyone who voted for the Challenge America 2011 Chevy Silverado! Nic got interviewed today and Jerry was right there with the cameras rolling.
Jerry is busy filming at SEMA today and Nic is busy with his various entries into the show! We are expecting to have some pictures soon of the booth and the truck so keep an eye on our site for inside info!
Linda Henigan and crew are on their way out to SEMA today and will be arriving to assist the veterans and work with Jerry on filming.

Victorious heads for the SEMA Chevrolet Booth
Wow, it has been a wild, wild few weeks getting ready for the SEMA Auto Showin Las Vegas starting tomorrow! Everyone involved in The Victorious Project has been burning the candle at both ends and some of us in the middle and the box the candles came in too! Nic Ashby hit the road in a seven vehicle caravan on Halloween with all seven vehicles he’s involved with this year (ah, youth) which is an impressive list that includes the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and Nic’s National Guard Chevy Camaro SS that was awarded a “Grand Tourismo” award at the 2009 SEMA. Jerry is the road to SEMA this morning with a truck loaded down with video gear while Nic is already there at the Las Vegas Convention Center setting up the vehicles and booths. Linda is working with Challenge America (check out their NEW web site!) on prepping the Veterans and some of us are staying home (sigh) and working on web updates! Go Veterans, Go Victorious!
